Construction of the new Viking home, U.S. Bank Stadium, is underway and moving along, but that does not mean that the process is without setbacks. Minnesota’s Kare 11 News reports that the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and Mortenson Construction, the primary contractor involved with the project, will head to mediation on November 9, 2015, to determine who should pay for $15 million in cost overruns alleged to result change orders on the stadium.
In the meantime, wonderful news has arrived concerning what the stadium will look like once completed. Foxsports reports that the stadium will feature “about 500 artworks, including roughly 200 commissioned paintings, sculptures, digital and installation pieces, plus 300 photos.” Those interested in spending their special day in this welcoming environment may also have their wedding ceremony held in the partially publicly financed building. The people’s stadium, indeed.
