Almost done with these things. The next argument to BARK IT UP will be cornerback.
1 Jaire Alexander (Packers)
Good rookie year and second year. 28th ranked and lone weakness is run defense. He needs to stay healthier than his rookie year though.
2a Desmond Trufant (Lions)
34th ranked CB last year in 9 games. He has a good grade every year and typically is ranked in the 26-34 range. Good in coverage and consistent. Needs to stay healthy and can be a number 1 CB for Detroit
2b Marcus Lattimore (Saints)
Good first two years but had a down year in 2019 (above averae). 53rd ranked in 2019. He is a true number 1 CB and the Saints will pay him soon. Elite ranking in 2017.
3a Kyle Fuller (Bears)
Up and down career but can be a good number 1 CB
3b Jeff Okudah (Lions)
3rd pick in the draft for the Lions with great man press cover skills. Perfect fit for Detroit and the Lions really have two number 1 CBs.
4a Carlton Davis (Tampa Bay)
32nd ranked young 2nd round pick. Davis will need to have a big season for Tampa Bay to finally get over the hump on defense
4b Justin Coleman (Lions)
Very good nickel CB with 2 good season with Seattle and an up and down season with Detroit. Looked elite early and late but had a rough stretch. The Lions have 3 good CBS
4c Janoris Jenkins (Saints)
30th ranked in 2019 and was a nice trade for the Saints. Has been a number 1 CB for the Giants despite a rough ending there. Saints have two good starting CBs
4d AJ Terrell (Falcons)
Atlanta reached for him in Round 1 but has the chance to be a number 1 CB
4e Jeff Gladney (Vikings)
1st round pick with big shoes to fill. Rhodes, Waynes and Alexander are all gone from the Vikings so big shoes to fill but not the highest of bars.
4f Donte Jackson (Panthers)
Panthers top corner but had a down year on a bad team. 2nd round pick from 2018 needs his rookie success to return.
5a Jamel Dean (Tampa Bay)
Another young day 2 pick that had a high grade in 300 snaps.
5b Amari Oruwariye (Lions)
27th ranked in 200 snaps. Had a few picks in limited snaps and the Lions have some depth with him developing
5c Chandler Sullivan (Packers)
Another high grade with 300 snaps. Sullivan could solve some coverage problems for the Packers if he continues to develop
5d Jaylon Johnson (Bears)
2nd round pick for the Bears that needs to replace Prince Amukamara
6a Eli Apple (Panthers)
Average CB that didnt’ quite hit the mark for the Giants or Saints.
6b Kevin King (Packers)
Average grade and the last chance for this high Packers pick
6c Isiah Oliver (Falcons)
Poor 2019 but good rookie year in 2018. 2018 2nd round pick has potential
7a Mike Hughes (Vikings)
1st round pick for the Vikings from 2018 that hasn’t done much. Needs to get much better to replace the Vikings DBs that left.
7b Buster Skrine (Bears)
Decent nickel CB for the Bears. Has had some good years.
8a Sean Murphy Bunting (Tampa Bay)
Bunting had a rough rookie year as the Bucs 2nd round pick in 2019. They are hoping this young secondary develop.
8b Patrick Robinson (Saints)
Veteran that has played ok at times in his long career
8c PJ Williams (Saints)
Average CB
8d Cameron Dantlzer (Vikings)
Vikings 3rd round pick that may have to play early
9 Josh Jackson (Packers)
Bust of a 2nd round pick in 2018
10 Artie Burns (Bears)
Bust a 1st round pick
Other Backups
Mike Ford has experience for the Lions and Daryl Roberts was added to Detroit after up and down years playing for the Jets but has playing experience. K’Dar Hollman is a late rounder for the Packers but they should really bring back Tramon Williams. Kendell Sheffield enters year 2 for the Falcons after being a 4th round pick. Damonate Kazee has slot CB ability but is a Falcons safety. MJ Stewart is decent graded for Tampa Bay. Corn Elder is the Panther nickel. Woof. Duke Shelly and Kevin Toliver rounds out the Bears roster. Vikings have Holton Hill who could win the nickel job.
