For the other 30 teams including real 2024 season NFL Champion Detroit Lions, the offseason has begun. Coaching changes galore folks.
Bears finally realized Lions were far superior and hired Ben Johnson. Top 5 offense for 3 years in a row. Luckily the Lions are loaded on offense (unlike the Bears), have the 8th most cap space and stud GM. Lions hired John Morton to ber OC who helped build this stud Lions offense in 2022. Sean Payton coaching tree with success with Bo Nix as passing game coordinator in 2024. Jets might poach Tanner Engstrand to OC but maybe not. Lions will still drop 30+ on everybody in 2025.
Also on offense, Bears stole WR coach Antwan Randle El and assistant QB coach JT Barrett. Meh. More importantly the Lions keep Scottie Montgomery and Hank Fraley and Mark Brunell. Bears got Dennis Allen as their DC which was smart (lol Saints) and Matt Eberflus will be the DC of the Cowboys (lol them). Vikings extended Kevin O Connell which was also smart and did not lose Flores.
On defense, Lions lose DC Coordinator Aaron to the Jets (lol Saints) and get a 3rd round pick in 2025 and 2026. The Lions smartly promote stud LB coach Kelvin Shepphard to DC of the Lions. Lions lost Dline coach Terrell Williams to DC of the Pats but hired a good one in Bucs Dline coach Kacy Rogers (who spurned the Packers to join the Lions). Lions promoted Shaun Dion Hamilton from assistant LB coach to LB coach. Lions still have stud DB coach Deshea Townsend.
Packers are running it back for 3rd place (maybe 4th with Bears with BJ) but did get their 2nd choice at Dline coach Vince Oghobaase . Tom Clements did retire so Love will probably get worse.
