Now I’m Freeeeee Freeeee Agency-Tom Petty

Analysis Featured

How bout that ride in? Time for a little tampering. Packers, Vikings and Bears fans should tamper their expectations. NFL free agency will start on Wednesday with the tampering period to begin Mar 10 at noon. But it won’t be free. Time to see who will win the offseason.

Action so far

Back to Back NFC North Champ Detroit Lions (It will be 3 in a row)

Lions continue to own the division and re-signed Derrick Barnes to a 3 year 22 million dollar deal and Marcus Davenport on a 1 year 4.75 million dollar. Detroit cut Zadarius Smith as expected saving 5.75 million in cap room (and 5.2 million saved in 2026).

Minnesota Vikings (Shooter’s Shoot for 2nd place)

Aaron Jones re-signed for 2 years 20 million. Smart move. Sam Darnold could be gone if Seattle loves him. (Seattle traded Geno Smith to the Raiders for a 3rd rounder. Re-signed their punter Ryan Wrigth which they might need without a QB.

Green Bay Packers (Ya’ll Miss Rodgers)

Re-signed kicker Brandon McManus for 3 years 15 million. He is the McManus for the job. Re-signed Isiah McDuffie for 2 years 8 million to sit on his McDuffie on the bench.

Da Bears with Benedict Johnson

Bears have been busy trading for guards. Fourth round pick for Joe Thuney and sixth round pick for former Lion Jonah Jackson. Offensive line is a huge need so these were good moves. Offseason champ again?
